Maintenance Fitter - Food Manufacturing

South-East Melbourne | Day Shift | Overtime Available

A growing food manufacturing business in Melbourne’s South-East is expanding following new contract wins and is looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter / Maintenance Technician to join their team.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment and wants to be part of a growing business.

About the Role

Reporting to the Production Manager , you will be responsible for supporting the reliability and ongoing operation of the site’s plant and equipment.

The role will involve:

- Planned, preventative and reactive maintenance
- Mechanical fault finding and breakdown repairs
- Supporting production to minimise downtime




- General maintenance and repairs across plant and equipment
- Assisting with continuous improvement and equipment reliability
- Working with contractors and external service providers when required
- Ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently

What We’re Looking For

- Mechanical Trade Qualification – Maintenance Fitter, Fitter & Turner or equivalent
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, FMCG or a similar industrial environment
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance skills
- Experience with preventative and breakdown maintenance
- Good communication skills
- A strong team player who works well with Production and other departments
- Reliable, proactive and hands‑on approach
- TIG welding, fabrication or basic PLC fault-finding experience would be advantageous
