Senior Consultant - Talent Acquisition at IT Alliance

Positions: Up to 2 roles available

Federal Government is seeking up to two experienced and qualified fibre cabling professionals.

Role Overview:

Successful candidates will contribute to the planning, procurement, installation, and documentation of fibre infrastructure upgrades. Based in Canberra, these roles will involve regular international travel to support and deliver critical fibre cabling enhancements across global network.

Key Responsibilities:

- Fibre Installation & Maintenance: Install and maintain fibre optic cabling systems in line with technical schematics and design documents.
- Splicing & Certification: Conduct splicing, testing, and certification of fibre cables to industry standards.
- Fault Diagnosis: Identify and rectify fibre faults using a variety of testing tools and network documentation.
- Project Documentation: Complete comprehensive job records, including handover documentation and photographic evidence.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Deliver quality customer service and liaise effectively with APS staff.
- Autonomous Delivery: Manage work independently, demonstrating strong time management and self-direction.
- Team Collaboration: Provide support to APS Team Leaders and Project Managers across multiple locations.




- Compliance & Safety: Maintain current licences and certifications, and comply with APS Code of Conduct and WHS requirements.
- WHS Training: Undertake required safety training, including working at heights and confined spaces.
- International Travel: Be available for overseas deployment, sometimes at short notice.

Required Skills and Qualifications (Essential):

- A current cabling licence with the following endorsements:
- Open Registration
- Structured Cabling (including Cat 5, 6 and beyond – CPR endorsement)
- NV2 security clearance (mandatory).
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.
- Eligibility to obtain an Official or Diplomatic passport.
- Relevant experience working within a Commonwealth Government environment.
