About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Machinist / Fitter to join our team at our Oxley workshop.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson who enjoys a variety of machining, fitting and repair work. You will work on precision components and assemblies across a diverse range of industries, including mining, transport, defence, manufacturing and energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools.
- Perform precision machining, fitting, assembly and repair work.
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Measure and inspect components to ensure they meet required tolerances and quality standards.
- Assemble, fit and repair mechanical components and equipment.
- Use precision measuring instruments, hand tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
- Work closely with the workshop team to deliver jobs on time and to a high standard.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work setting in accordance with WHS requirements.
This is a full-time position, working:
- Monday to Thursday: 6:00 am – 3:30 pm
- Friday: Early finish
About You
You will ideally have:
- Trade qualification as a Fitter & Turner, Machinist, Mechanical Fitter or equivalent.
- Experience operating conventional and/or CNC machining equipment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience with precision measuring equipment and quality inspection.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
