Hands-On Trades Assistant Wanted – Outstanding Variety, Great Team, No Two Days the Same!

Essential Power Systems (EPS) is looking for a reliable, hands‑on Electrical & Mechanical Trades Assistant to join our growing team in Cardiff. You'll work alongside experienced electricians and generator technicians on a wide range of diesel generators, electrical equipment and temporary power systems, both in our workshop and out on industrial and commercial sites.

Key responsibilities

- Assisting with generator servicing, repairs and maintenance
- Helping with electrical and mechanical installations
- Preparing generators and equipment for upcoming jobs
- Loading, unloading and transporting equipment
- Site mobilisations and demobilisations




- Workshop and yard duties
- Working alongside tradespeople on customer sites

About you

- Current Forklift Licence – required
- Current MR Truck Licence – required
- Current driver's licence
- White Card
- Previous industrial or Trades Assistant experience
- Good mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
- Confidence using hand and power tools
- A strong work ethic and good attitude
- Ability to work well within a small team
- Experience with diesel generators, heavy equipment or industrial electrical equipment would be a big advantage, but isn't essential
