About the role

Based in Blanchetown, South Australia, the Farm Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of one of our seven free range broiler poultry farms. The Farm Manager will achieve long-term production goals, following sustainable livestock management practices, improving the overall efficiency of the business and increasing profitability through the effective management of the farm.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate skill and experience in leading and motivating staff, have solid commercial acumen, and a genuine commitment to implementing best practice workplace health and safety. The ability to build effective relationships with various stakeholders both onsite and remotely will be essential to the success of this position. This is a full-time role living onsite and reporting to the Senior Operations Officer.

Key responsibilities include:

- Manage the prescribing and implementation of the animal husbandry program including training and supervision of staff.

- Determine feed availability based on growth rates, order and manage feed inventory.

- Manage the maintenance program for farm facility vehicles, equipment and implements.

- Achieve the budget by controlling operating costs, reducing waste and managing overheads in the operation.

- Ensure compliance with workplace legislation including Biosecurity, the Safety Management System and HSEQ requirements.





- Oversee and manage human resources for the farm to deliver optimal operational outcomes.

Ideally the successful candidate will have:

- Minimum of 3 (three) years’ experience in a similar role.

- Qualifications in Business/Agricultural related field or equivalent experience.

- First aid certificate.

- Highly developed communications and negotiation skills.

- Current driver’s license.

Comprised of 42 sheds (including free range), across seven separate farms on a single land holding, the farm produces approximately ten million birds per annum.
