About the Role
The Sport & Community Venues Branch plays a vital role in delivering high-quality community facilities that support connection, wellbeing and participation across the Sunshine Coast. The branch manages dynamic venues that host community programs, performances, events and activities, contributing to the region's social, cultural and economic vitality. Working within this team means being part of an environment that helps bring people together and creates memorable community experiences.
As a Front of House Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for patrons, hirers and visitors, helping ensure every interaction is welcoming, professional and efficient. This hands-on role supports the day-to-day operation of Council's community venues through exceptional customer service, venue presentation, event support and cash handling. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service to patrons, hirers and visitors.
- Maintain venue presentation,
cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Accurately and securely handle cash and venue transactions.
- Promote venue programs, events and facilities to the community.
About you
- Customer focused: you genuinely enjoy helping people and consistently provide friendly, professional and efficient service that leaves a positive impression.
- Reliable and adaptable: you're flexible with your availability, can adapt to changing operational needs and are committed to supporting a variety of events and activities.
- Safety conscious: you understand the importance of workplace health and safety and actively follow procedures to help maintain a safe environment for staff, patrons and visitors.
- Qualified and community minded: you hold (or can obtain) a First Aid Certificate, Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification and a Working with Children Blue Card, and you take pride in supporting positive community outcomes.
Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
Appointment to this position is subject to the satisfactory completion of a Criminal History Check.
