THE ROLE

Reporting to the Manager, Procurement and Governance within the Communities and Families Service Transformation, the Senior Commercial and Vendor Specialist is responsible for managing the procurement activities on behalf of the business area for CFTP, supported by the central DFFH procurement function.

The Senior Commercial and Vendor Specialist will provide procurement expertise to assist with planning,



developing and executing procurement activities in addition to garnering required inputs and endorsements from DFFH Procurement and CFTP stakeholders. The role will work in a multi-disciplinary team environment. An external probity advisor and probity auditor will also be engaged to provide probity oversight. A range of technical subject matter experts from across CFTP will be involved in supporting the process including formulation of requirements and evaluation of relevant parts of responses.

The role will also lead the vendor delivery by reviewing product quality and ensuring on-schedule, value-for-money customer service. The role requires balanced judgement of a range of financial and non-financial factors, taking into account the total benefits and costs over the life of the goods, services or works procured, environmental, social and economic factors, and any risk related to the procurement process.

The role will foster a culture of sound governance, continuous improvement, and delivery excellence, ensuring procurement arrangements enable innovation while maintaining appropriate oversight and probity and enabling stewardship of the system transformation. Whilst a key leadership role in the Transformation Office you will work alongside and support your team to collaborate with partners in Corporate and Delivery Services on the critical program functions of finance, procurement, governance and workforce services.

The position will require highly developed leadership and people management skills,



high level written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to be responsive to tasks including the provision of responses in a timely manner.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

1. Support end-to-end procurement delivery, in partnership with and under the guidance of the central DFFH procurement function and technical subject matter experts, including procurement planning, documentation development, evaluation and contract negotiation support
2. Work with multiple internal stakeholders and outsourced vendors and establish and build strong relationships to support effective delivery and procurement outcomes
3. Support the ongoing development and implementation of the CFTP procurement governance framework, in partnership with the central DFFH Procurement function, to support effective, compliant and value-for-money- procurement outcomes.
