Importantly, you're not being hired to spend your days processing invoices, chasing purchase orders or getting buried in transactional finance. That work is supported externally.

Your role is to focus on the things a good Financial Controller should be focusing on which is understanding the numbers. Challenging them, explaining them, and then using them to help the business make better decisions.

You'll work closely with the Directors and senior operational leaders, providing the financial insight needed to support performance and growth.

This isn't a role for you if you're looking for the biggest finance team but it is for you if you're a Financial Controller who wants autonomy, visibility and influence.

Your responsibilities:

This is a broad Financial Controller role, and you'll need to be comfortable moving between technical finance, commercial analysis, and strategic support.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing weekly, monthly and annual management reporting, with meaningful analysis and commentary
- Leading budgeting and forecasting
- Managing daily and weekly cash positions and developing robust cash flow forecasts
- Maintaining strong financial controls, governance and reporting integrity
- Working closely with external accountants on statutory reporting, tax and
- Compliance
- Partnering with outsourced finance support to ensure the transactional side of finance runs accurately and efficiently
- Reviewing project costing and work in progress
- Analysing project performance, profitability and margins
- Supporting tenders,



capital expenditure decisions and new opportunities
- Working closely with senior operational stakeholders to provide commercial insight
- Providing modelling and analysis to support business decisions
- Working directly with the Directors on strategic initiatives and growth plans
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, reporting and controls

Who you are:

You'll be a fully qualified CA or CPA (essential) with strong experience across management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow.
In addition, experience in a project-based environment will be highly beneficial.

You'll understand project costing, WIP, margins and the importance of having a close handle on cash.

You will be someone who will ask questions and get the story behind the numbers, and you'll be comfortable pulling on your business partner skills to have conversations with people outside of Finance.

You'll need to build strong relationships with Directors, senior operational leaders, outsourced finance providers and external advisors. You're very confident communicating with people at every level and, occasionally, challenging them when needed.
