About your team

The Digital Trust team is a high-calibre group of AI governance, privacy and data governance experts, responsible for setting the frameworks, standards and guardrails that enable responsible value creation across Wesfarmers Corporate Office, OneDigital, and for key Group initiatives.

Partnering closely with Risk, Compliance, Assurance and Cyber teams, the team helps manage digital and technology risks and support compliance across the Group.

About you

You bring extensive experience across at least one of AI governance, privacy or data governance, gained within a large, complex or decentralised organisation. Ideally, you offer depth across two or more of these areas and a credible working knowledge of the other.

You have demonstrated experience developing governance frameworks, standards, controls, metrics and reporting, and can translate complex regulatory requirements into practical minimum expectations and business processes.

Just as important is your judgement and ability to influence senior stakeholders. You are comfortable providing constructive challenge, working through ambiguity and balancing commercial outcomes with effective risk management.

What you’ll do

As Senior Manager, Digital Trust, you'll help shape how AI governance, privacy and data governance risks are managed across Wesfarmers, at a Group level.

Working across divisions and Corporate Office functions, you'll set the Group's standards and guardrails, provide oversight and constructive challenge on key risks and decisions, and build the capability, frameworks and practices that support effective risk management while preserving divisional accountability.

Operating within Wesfarmers' divisional autonomy model, you'll influence outcomes through expertise, insight and judgement rather than direct operational control.

You'll lead and support across:

- Standards and oversight: establish Group-wide frameworks, controls, reporting and minimum expectations across AI governance, privacy and data governance
- Risk visibility and challenge: provide reporting, insights and constructive challenge on key risks, divisional strategies and material decisions




- Regulatory and incident management: monitor emerging regulatory developments and act as the Group escalation point for significant incidents and breaches
- Capability and enablement: build Group-wide Digital Trust capability through practical tools, guidance and communities of practice
- Executive partnership: provide expert advice and insights to leadership, governance forums and Audit and Risk Committees

What you’ll need

- Digital trust expertise: extensive experience establishing governance frameworks and risk management approaches across AI governance, privacy and/or data governance within large, complex organisations.
- Governance and risk management: proven capability designing frameworks, standards, controls, metrics and reporting that support effective oversight
- Regulatory translation: ability to convert complex regulatory requirements into practical business processes, controls and guidance
- Strategic influence: confidence partnering with and constructively challenging senior stakeholders across diverse business environments
- Analytical judgement: solid ability to interpret data, identify emerging risks and provide clear, actionable recommendations
- Communication: exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of executive and Board-level materials
- Commercial pragmatism: ability to balance governance, risk and customer outcomes in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Leadership: a collaborative approach with a track record of developing capability and influencing through expertise rather than authority
- Qualifications: tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, with IAPP, DAMA, ISO or similar credentials well regarded
