We are seeking Mechanical Fitters across Brisbane, Cairns and Townsville to join an established service team responsible for maintaining and repairing commercial food and retail equipment.
This is a hands-on field service position where you’ll generally start and finish your day from home, travelling to customer sites in a fully equipped company vehicle. With around 80% of the role focused on reactive repairs and maintenance, no two days will be exactly the same.
The Role Working across a range of customer sites, you will complete approximately 5–6 jobs per day, diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs and ensuring equipment is operating safely and reliably.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical faults
- Completing reactive and preventative maintenance
- Conducting routine inspections and servicing
- Installing, dismantling, aligning and adjusting mechanical components
- Replacing and repairing bearings, blades, slides, hinges, brackets, hoses, handles, seals, valves and other components
- Servicing pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Testing and commissioning equipment following repairs
- MIG/TIG welding, fabrication and mechanical modifications where required
- Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, manuals and technical specifications
- Accurately recording maintenance, repairs and parts usage
- Completing required customer and site compliance documentation
- Working independently while remaining supported by the wider service team
Hours & On-Call
This is a 38-hour, Monday-to-Friday position, generally starting between 7:00am and 8:00am.
You will also participate in an on-call roster approximately one week every four weeks. On-call rosters may occasionally run across weekends depending on the roster cycle.

About You
To be considered, you will need:
- Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent Mechanical Fitter qualification
- Mechanical maintenance, repair or field service experience
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a daily schedule
- Basic welding/fabrication capability
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to safety, documentation and compliance
- Flexibility to participate in the on-call roster
- Current driver's licence
