About us:
The Central Queensland Public Health (CQPHU) consists of a multi-disciplinary team of staff including Public Health Physicians, Public Health Nurses, Environmental Health Officers, Epidemiologists, Data Managers, and business services staff, including some with regional wide roles.
About the role:
- Provide autonomous clinical leadership, specialist advice and mentorship across public health nursing, communicable disease control and immunisation.
- Lead disease surveillance, investigation and outbreak responses, helping identify risks early and protect population health.
- Provide expert immunisation advice and support vaccination clinics, vaccine safety, cold-chain management and the School Immunisation Program.
- Analyse public health data, promote evidence-based practice and lead quality improvement, policy and service initiatives.
- Work closely with health professionals, community organisations and external stakeholders to provide timely education, advice and coordinated responses to public health issues.
About you:
- Hold registration as a Registered Nurse via AHPRA is mandatory; any relevant qualifications would be considered highly desirable.
- Bring advanced knowledge of communicable disease control, outbreak investigation, surveillance, immunisation and vaccine safety, with the ability to apply this knowledge across the community.
- Provide clinical leadership, mentorship and specialist advice while building effective relationships with multidisciplinary teams and internal and external stakeholders.
- Plan,
deliver, monitor and evaluate public health programs, manage competing priorities and communicate complex information clearly through strong written, verbal and problem-solving skills.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $174,208 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $70.92 - $77.00 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
