About the role
As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will play an important role in supporting children's learning, development, wellbeing and school readiness while building strong, respectful and responsive relationships with children, families and colleagues. You will develop, implement and evaluate a high-quality educational program aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and contribute to creating a secure, inclusive and nurturing environment where children can learn, grow and thrive.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement and evaluate a high-quality educational program aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
- Support children's learning, development, wellbeing and school readiness
- Build respectful, responsive and meaningful relationships with children and families
- Work collaboratively with educators, management and other professionals
- Contribute to observations, documentation, planning, assessment and reflection
- Create an inclusive, engaging and culturally responsive learning environment
- Plan experiences that encourage children's curiosity, confidence, independence and development
- Maintain effective communication with families regarding children's learning, development and wellbeing
- Promote a safe, respectful, inclusive and child-focused environment
- Contribute positively to the service's professional culture and quality improvement processes
About you
- Hold an approved Early Childhood Teaching qualification recognised under the Australian early childhood education and care framework, or an equivalent qualification recognised for the role
- Meet relevant NSW teacher registration/accreditation requirements, where applicable
- Hold a valid NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance or be eligible to obtain one
- Provide a satisfactory National Police Check / criminal history check, in accordance with service requirements
- Hold or complete mandatory child safety training/certification required under current early childhood education and care requirements
- Hold a current Child Protection Certificate, with the certificate/refresher updated annually as required by the service
- Have a sound understanding of the EYLF, NQS and National Quality Framework (NQF)
- Demonstrate strong communication, leadership and teamwork skills
- Demonstrate a genuine commitment to children's safety, wellbeing, learning and development
- Be willing to comply with all service policies, procedures and child protection requirements
