About the role

SCMB Disability Supports is seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team in the North Brisbane and Moreton Bay region. This is for casual or potentially part-time position. Offering flexible work arrangements to become part of our customers support Team.

As a Support Worker with SCMB Disability Supports, you will be required to maintain professional boundaries with the customer, their families, and stakeholders at all times.

Successful applicants must demonstrate a commitment to working in accordance with the NDIS Code of Conduct and all SCMB Disability Supports policies, procedures, and values. This includes promoting customers choice and dignity, maintaining ethical and professional relationships, protecting customers wellbeing, and delivering supports in a safe, respectful, and person-centred manner.

What you'll be doing

- Promotes and demonstrates Active Support practices by enabling and empowering customers to participate in daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, household tasks, and community engagement, while fostering independence, choice, skill development, and inclusion.

- Assisting customers with mobility and access requirements, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times

- Building positive and trusting relationships with customers, understanding and following their individual support plan needs, preferences and goals

- Communicating effectively with customers, families, carers and the broader support team to ensure coordinated and consistent care

- High level and accurate documenting and reporting on customers support, progress and any concerns in accordance with organisational procedures

- Promotes Active Support practices by maintaining a safe, clean,



and enabling environment that maximises customer participation in daily activities while adhering to health and safety requirements and disability support best practices.

- Responds to customers' needs in a person-centred and respectful manner, advocating for their rights, dignity, choice, and meaningful engagement in everyday life.

What we're looking for

- A genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities and a commitment to person-centred care

- Previous experience in disability support, aged care, community services or a related field is highly valued

- Robust interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with diverse individuals

- Physical capability to assist customers with mobility and personal care tasks as required

- A reliable and punctual approach to work, with flexibility to accommodate varied shift patterns in a part time capacity

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a support team

- Empathy, patience and a non-judgmental attitude towards customers with varying support needs

- A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transport, as this role requires travel within the North Brisbane and Moreton Bay region

- Willingness to obtain or hold current First Aid certification and any required disability support qualifications including the NDIS Modules

- Hold current or willingness to obtain NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, Working with Children (Blue Card), National Police Check
