Programmed Maintenance Services – Somersby NSW
Programmed has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Fitter to join the maintenance team at our client site in Somersby.
Our client is the manufacturer of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete, producing innovative, sustainable and high-performance building products used throughout residential and commercial construction across Australia.
This is a hands‐on role supporting plant reliability, equipment performance, and operational excellence across a large‐scale manufacturing environment.
About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring production equipment is maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability and efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
Breakdown diagnosis and fault-finding on plant and production equipment
Preventative and predictive maintenance activities
Mechanical repairs, overhauls and component replacement
Working on pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Assisting with shutdowns and capital improvement projects
Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
Maintaining accurate maintenance records through CMMS systems
Ensuring compliance with site safety, quality and environmental requirements
Supporting apprentices and contributing to team development initiatives
About You
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner
Current NSW White Card or willingness to obtain
Significant experience within a manufacturing, industrial, mining,
heavy industry or processing environment
Robust fault-finding and diagnostic capability
Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, pumps and rotating equipment
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance documentation
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
Current driver's licence
Welding and fabrication skills
Dogging, Rigging, EWP, Forklift or Working at Heights tickets
Experience with CMMS maintenance systems
Experience leading maintenance activities or mentoring trades personnel
Continuous improvement or Lean Manufacturing experience
