We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineering Technician to join our engineering team.
Working closely with our design and engineering staff, you will support the development, testing and continuous improvement of electrical systems and components used across our range of mining and construction equipment.
This role suits someone who enjoys precise technical work, testing and documentation, and contributing to the design of new products.
Key responsibilities
Assist engineers with the design and layout of electrical systems, switchgear, cabling and motor control systems for equipment such as concrete pumps, mining carriers and electric service vehicles
Develop and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics
Conduct testing, calibration and inspection of electrical components and systems to verify compliance with design specifications and relevant Australian Standards
Assemble, install, modify and repair electrical equipment and control systems in the workshop and, where required, on client sites
Gather data, perform calculations and prepare test reports and technical documentation
Calculate material costs and quantities for electrical components and projects
Contribute to research, product development and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure work complies with relevant WHS and electrical safety standards
About you
Certificate III in Electrotechnology or relevant qualification
Sound working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards (e.g. AS/NZS **** and related codes) as applied to equipment design and testing
Proficiency reading and interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics
Experience with electrical testing, calibration and diagnostic equipment
Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail
At least 3 years experience in an industrial, manufacturing or heavy equipment environment (mining or construction sector experience highly regarded)
White Card (or willingness to obtain)
Current driver's licence
