An opportunity has become available for a Supply Planning Officer to join a close-knit supply chain team within an established consumer products business.
This is a broad, hands-on role covering supply planning, forecasting, purchasing, international vendors and shipment coordination across Australia and New Zealand.
You will take ownership of a portfolio of more than 500 SKUs, working closely with sales, suppliers and the wider supply chain team to ensure stock is available at the right time while balancing inventory levels, supplier requirements and customer demand.
This role would suit either an existing Supply Planner or someone with strong supply chain, inventory, replenishment or purchasing experience who is ready to take the next step into a broader planning position.
About the role
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Managing the monthly forecasting process across Australia and New Zealand, including preparing forecast files, coordinating forecast meetings and consolidating input from Account Managers
Maintaining and reviewing 12-month forecasts across a portfolio of 500+ SKUs
Uploading forecasts into SAP and SAP IBP and monitoring forecast accuracy and bias
Working closely with Sales and Category Managers to understand upcoming demand, promotions and new product launches
Raising and managing purchase orders with overseas suppliers
Communicating regularly with vendors regarding new orders, order quantities, lead times, production and shipping dates
Working through supplier MOQs and identifying the most commercially practical ordering solution
Coordinating container requirements and working with suppliers and freight forwarders to optimise shipments
Monitoring supplier and shipping delays, escalating issues and providing timely updates to internal stakeholders
Managing supply requirements for New Zealand, including determining whether stock should be supplied from Australia or ordered directly from vendors
Reviewing inventory requirements to minimise both out-of-stock and excess inventory situations
Supporting regular product launches and seasonal demand periods
Working closely with the Inventory and Distribution team to ensure a smooth handover of incoming shipments
Supporting the continued development and implementation of SAP IBP planning processes
You may already be working in supply planning, or you could be coming from a supply chain coordination, inventory, replenishment or purchasing background and looking to develop further into planning.
To be successful, you will ideally have:
Previous experience within supply chain, planning, inventory, replenishment or purchasing
Robust Excel skills, including PivotTables and lookup functions
Experience using SAP or another ERP system
Strong analytical and numerical ability
Confidence communicating with suppliers and internal stakeholders
The ability to manage multiple orders, priorities and deadlines
Good problem-solving skills and the confidence to follow up, escalating and challenge when required
An interest in developing your forecasting and supply planning capability
SAP IBP experience will be highly regarded but is not essential
Previous exposure to international suppliers, freight or imported products would be advantageous
Australian citizenship or permanent residency
Most importantly, you will be someone who enjoys taking ownership, is comfortable working across a broad range of supply chain activities and is keen to continue developing your career.
What's on offer
$94,000 + Super
Hybrid working with 2 days from home and 3 days in the office after probation
Free onsite parking

International supplier and freight exposure
Opportunity to develop your SAP IBP experience as the business continues to evolve its forecasting processes
Training and development from an experienced supply chain team
Staff discounts across a broad range of consumer products
Potential longer-term growth opportunities as the business and supply chain function develop
This is a great opportunity for someone who has built strong supply chain foundations and is ready to take more ownership across planning, forecasting and international supply.
