About the role

The Electrical & Controls Engineer is responsible for the design, documentation, coordination and delivery of electrical power, control and automation systems associated with HVAC and building-services projects. The position involves designing and reviewing electrical distribution and control systems, preparing engineering drawings, calculations and technical documentation, coordinating electrical interfaces with mechanical equipment, and providing engineering support during installation, testing, commissioning and project handover.

Key responsibilities
Prepare detailed engineering drawings and layouts using CAD software.
Develop, maintain and revise technical documentation for electrical, control and automation systems associated with HVAC and building-services projects.
Manage electrical engineering activities and project delivery for electrical distribution, controls, automation and BMS systems associated with HVAC and building-services projects.
Design and review LV/MV electrical distribution systems, including switchboards, MCCs, transformers, motors, pumps, VSDs, cabling,



protection and earthing systems.
Prepare single-line diagrams (SLDs), electrical schematics, cable schedules, load calculations, equipment schedules, and technical specifications and associated engineering documentation.
Design and coordinate PLC, HMI, SCADA, BMS and instrumentation systems, including control panels, control schematics, points lists and I/O schedules.
Develop and review electrical control philosophies, sequences of operation and functional descriptions for HVAC and building-services control systems.
Coordinate electrical and control requirements for HVAC equipment, including AHUs, FCUs, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, ventilation fans, exhaust systems and VAV systems.
Coordinate interfaces between mechanical equipment, electrical systems, BMS, PLCs, sensors, actuators, VSDs and other control devices.
Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders to resolve technical, coordination and project delivery issues.
