Gate Gourmet, part of gategroup, is the world's largest independent provider of airline catering and food solutions — serving more than 250 airlines across 30+ countries and producing over 270 million meals a year. Our Brisbane culinary team is growing, and we're looking for qualified chefs to join a high-volume production kitchen where precision, consistency and food safety matter more than plating for a pass.

It's a 7-day operation, so some weekends are part of the rotation — but shifts are mornings and afternoons only.

The role
Cook to approved specifications, recipes and production schedules — consistency at volume is the craft here
Run your section and lead Catering Assistants and junior team members
Control yield, waste and spoilage
Hold the line on HACCP, sanitation and food safety standards
Keep your area clean, secure and organised, and contribute to a safety-first culture

What you'll bring




Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
Bulk cooking, high-volume kitchen or food manufacturing experience (highly regarded — but we'll train the right hospitality chef)
Ability to work 38 hours per week across a 7-day roster (morning/afternoon shifts and some weekends and public holidays)
Strong communication skills and a genuine team-first attitude
