Job Description
We are looking for a medical receptionist to join our team at Sunshine Coast General Surgeons.
It is a fast paced and dynamic practice, based at Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
We place a strong emphasis on team culture and values.
As such, we welcome applications from candidates across a range of experience levels, from entry-level through to senior receptionists, and will appoint the applicant who is the best fit for our practice.
This part-time position requires ***** hours per week.
What you'll be doing
Providing exceptional customer service to ensure a positive experience for all patients
Scheduling and coordinating patient appointments
Handling patient inquiries and providing information about our services
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and files
Assisting with billing, insurance claims, and other financial tasks
Liaising with other healthcare providers and specialists as required
Performing various administrative tasks to support the practice
Coordinating with the medical team to ensure smooth office operations
Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all relevant medical regulations and policies
What we're looking for
Some experience as a medical receptionist or patient-facing roles.
Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritise and manage a busy workload
Strong customer service and communication skills




Proficient in using Microsoft office applications.
Some experience in using medical practice management software.
Proficiency is highly desirable.
A keen eye for detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure
A friendly, qualified and empathetic demeanour
Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is highly desirable
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with patients, doctors, and other healthcare professionals
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to all relevant regulations
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated healthcare team
