Job Description
Queensland Aboriginal and Islander Health Council – South Brisbane QLD
We are seeking two Member Support Officers.
These roles play an important role in supporting relationships between QAIHC and its member Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) across Queensland.
Working within the Member Support and Sector Engagement Team, the position supports implementation of QAIHC's Member Support and Sector Engagement Framework by building trusted relationships with members, understanding member priorities, facilitating access to support and opportunities, and contributing to collaboration across the sector.
The Member Support Officer supports member engagement activities, maintains member information and intelligence, assists with Communities of Practice and sector networks, and contributes to initiatives that build the capability, connection and voice of the Queensland ACCHO sector.
Key responsibilities
Build and maintain trusted relationships with QAIHC members
Support implementation of member engagement plans
Coordinate and undertake member engagement activities including site visits, meetings and virtual engagement
Maintain an understanding of member priorities, challenges and opportunities
Respond to and coordinate member enquiries and support requests
Facilitate member access to QAIHC programs, services, organisational capability and external opportunities
Coordinate referrals to internal and external supports
Maintain accurate member records within QAIHC's member information systems
Support the establishment and ongoing operation of Communities of Practice and sector networks
Develop and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
About you
Demonstrated experience building and maintaining effective relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations, communities and stakeholders




Demonstrated understanding of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health sector and the principles of community control and self-determination
Demonstrated experience coordinating activities, projects, programs or service delivery functions and delivering outcomes within agreed timeframes
Demonstrated experience preparing reports, briefings, correspondence and other documentation, including the ability to analyse information and identify emerging issues and opportunities
Highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and contribute positively to team outcomes
Willingness to undertake regular travel throughout Queensland, including regional, rural and remote communities
Willingness to undergo a National Police Check
Willingness to obtain and maintain a Blue Card if required
