Job Description
Fleet & Asset Manager – National Multi‐Trade Services Group
Lead a national fleet.
Shape a growing multi‐trade business.
Drive real operational impact.
About Us
We are a national multi‐trade services organisation entering a significant growth phase, expanding our service capability and workforce across Australia.
To support this evolution, we are seeking an experienced Fleet & Asset Manager to take full ownership of our vehicles, equipment and trade assets nationally.
This is a hands‐on, strategic role where you'll influence how our field teams are equipped, supported and kept safe.
You'll work closely with senior operations, finance and field leadership, playing a critical part in building a scalable, future‐ready asset framework.
The Opportunity
As our Fleet & Asset Manager, you will oversee the end‐to‐end lifecycle of our national fleet and asset portfolio — ensuring safety, uptime, cost control and operational efficiency as the business grows.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Strategy & OEM Management
Develop and execute a national fleet strategy aligned to business growth
Lead OEM relationships, vehicle selection and standardised fleet builds
Oversee ordering, delivery, commissioning and end‐of‐life disposal
Drive standardisation to reduce cost, downtime and operational complexity
Fleet & Equipment Maintenance
Manage preventive and reactive maintenance for vehicles and trade equipment
Oversee servicing schedules, defect rectification, breakdowns and warranty claims
Minimise downtime through proactive planning and supplier coordination
Asset Lifecycle Management
Own the full lifecycle of all assets — procurement through to disposal
Maintain an accurate national asset register
Forecast replacement cycles and capital requirements
Support rapid onboarding of new trades with fit‐for‐purpose asset standards
Cost & Commercial Management
Manage fleet and asset budgets
Track TCO and cost‐per‐asset performance
Make data‐driven repair vs replace decisions
Identify cost‐efficiency opportunities through supplier negotiation and insights
Compliance, Risk & Safety
Ensure compliance with registration, roadworthiness, WHS and Chain of Responsibility
Oversee defect management and incident reporting
Support risk mitigation initiatives across the fleet
Systems, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Own fleet and asset management systems and processes
Deliver clear reporting on utilisation, costs, risks and lifecycle status
Build scalable processes suitable for a rapidly growing multi‐trade business
About You
You're a commercially minded operator who understands the realities of field‐based service work — and how critical fleet and equipment uptime is to performance.
You bring:
Proven experience managing a medium–large fleet and asset portfolio
Strong OEM, supplier and contractor management capability
Experience in trades, construction, utilities or field services
High attention to compliance, safety and governance
Strong budgeting, forecasting and cost‐control skills
A systems‐driven, process‐focused mindset with the ability to scale operations
Why Join Us?
National role with genuine autonomy and influence
Chance to shape fleet and asset strategy during a major growth phase
Direct impact on safety, performance and profitability
Business expanding its multi‐trade capability — your role grows with it
