Job Description
About the opportunity
We're seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to join a large‐scale, well‐established food processing facility in regional Queensland, roughly 1.5 hours from Brisbane and an hour from the Sunshine Coast.
The site runs a mature, well‐supported maintenance function - the majority of work is preventative rather than reactive, spare parts availability sits around 99%, and there's significant capital investment planned across the site.
This role has come about as the business splits a previously combined planning role back into two focused positions - this planner role, and a separate projects‐focused role - driven by growing workload and project volume.
Reports to: Engineering Manager.
Employment type: Full‐time, permanent (salaried).
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7am start
About the role
You'll be the custodian of planning and scheduling across the site, working closely with team leaders, production and stores to make sure jobs are fully planned before they're scheduled - and that statutory compliance inspections happen on time, every time.
Key responsibilities
Build accurate, achievable weekly, monthly and shutdown maintenance schedules
Manage the preventative maintenance schedule to keep all equipment PM tasks on track
Act as custodian of statutory compliance for the engineering department
Maintain accurate data within the CMMS, including PM functions and reporting
Support and troubleshoot the CMMS platform, including end‐user support
Source competitive quotes for spare parts, materials and contract works
Manage priorities and collaborate with stakeholders to optimise scheduled jobs
Run budget updates, cost‐saving initiatives and downtime/asset health reporting
About you
You bring a genuine trade background - mechanical or electrical, combined with strong planning, budgeting and computer skills.
You're a self‐starter who drives change rather than waiting to be told, and you communicate well across a diverse, multicultural workforce.
You will ideally have:
A trade qualification (mechanical or electrical) - essential, not just exposure
Around 5+ years' experience
Proficient capability in CMMS
Strong budgeting and cost management experience, including setting up and tracking budgets
Open to candidates from any industry background - priority is trade grounding and capital management skill
Full working rights required
Why this role
Join a well‐resourced site with strong capital investment and a mature CMMS environment
Genuine variety - planning, procurement, compliance, budgeting and reporting all in one role
Relocation support available
Site tour offered as part of the process, giving a explicit picture of the role and site before committing
