Senior Associate/Special Counsel (8-11yrs PAE) - Construction

The Role
An exciting prospect exists for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join a well established Construction and Infrastructure team in Sydney.
This role offers a genuine mix of front end and back end construction work, providing exposure to complex project advisory matters as well as high value disputes across a range of sectors.
Key responsibilities include: Drafting and negotiating construction and project documentation
Advising clients on construction related legal and commercial issues
Managing construction disputes, including adjudications and alternative dispute resolution processes
Running litigation matters in superior courts and arbitration proceedings
Supporting major infrastructure, engineering and development projects
Building and maintaining strong client relationships
Participating in business development initiatives and networking activities
Mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to knowledge sharing across the team
The Candidate
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical capability, commercial awareness and a genuine passion for construction law.
Requirements include:
Approximately 8 to 11 years post qualification experience, with strong consideration given to experienced Senior Associates and Special Counsel candidates
Significant experience in construction law gained within a reputable private practice firm or sophisticated in house environment
Exposure to both contentious and non contentious construction matters
Strong drafting, negotiation and dispute resolution skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
A commercial and solutions focused approach to legal practice
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships
A collaborative mindset and commitment to mentoring junior team members
