Job Description
Medical Receptionist | 4-Day Week | Alternating Thursday & Friday Off
Permanent Full-Time | 4 x 10-hour days | 7:00am - 4:30pm
Are you an experienced Medical Receptionist looking for a great work-life balance while working within a busy and professional specialist practice?
We are seeking a warm, professional and highly organised Medical Receptionist to join a busy, well-established medical practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong medical administration experience who genuinely enjoys working with patients and understands the importance of empathy and compassion.
What's on offer?
4-day working week
10-hour days: 7:00am - 4:30pm
One week you will have Thursday off
The following week you will have Friday off
This alternating roster provides a long weekend every second week

About the Role
This is a busy practice where you will play an significant role in ensuring patients receive a professional, welcoming and supportive experience from the moment they contact the practice.
Your responsibilities will include:
Welcoming patients and providing a warm and professional first point of contact
Managing a busy appointment book
Answering phones and responding to patient enquiries
Processing patient registrations and updating medical records
Managing referrals, correspondence and patient documentation
Processing payments and Medicare claims




Liaising with patients, doctors and other healthcare professionals
Managing recalls and follow-ups
Maintaining accurate patient information
Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice
Providing compassionate support to patients who may be anxious or require additional assistance
About You
We are looking for someone with strong medical reception experience who is confident working in a busy practice and can manage multiple priorities without losing sight of the patient experience.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience in medical reception
Experience working within a busy medical or specialist practice
Strong understanding of medical administration, referrals and Medicare
Experience with Clinic to Cloud is highly desirable
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A naturally warm, empathetic and compassionate manner
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
Confidence working independently and as part of a close-knit team
A genuine commitment to providing exceptional patient care
