Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) is the nation’s leading voice on exercise and sports science. We govern and represent approximately 10,000 degree-qualified accredited exercise professionals who support Australians to reach their health and performance goals.
About your role
The Finance Officer supports ESSA’s day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, payroll and month-end activities. This hands‑on role suits someone who is organised, accurate and focused on productive ways of working.
You will:
Manage accounts payable and receivable
Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Process payroll and maintain accurate payroll records
Support month-end, reporting, budgeting and forecasting
Assist with BAS, audits and finance compliance
Improve and automate finance processes where possible
Your competitive edge will include:
Experience in finance administration
Solid accounts payable, receivable and reconciliation skills
Experience with accounting software, ideally Xero
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisation and time management skills
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Experience with Employment Hero (desirable)
