Groote Eylandt and Bickerton Island Enterprises (GEBIE) is a Not-for-Profit organisation, and we are seeking an experienced Finance Officer for our team.

This is a Part time role (approx. 0.5 FTE) and is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accurate financial records, timely processing of transactions, and compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity while providing excellent support to internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities
Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions
Prepare Invoices, Journals, and Payment-runs
Prepare Bank and Credit card Reconciliations
Assist with Month-end and Year-end financial reporting




Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
Monitor outstanding debtor balances and follow up as required
Support audits and compliance requirements
Respond to finance-related enquiries from staff, suppliers, and customers
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls

About you
Previous experience in a Finance Officer role is essential
Robust understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
Proficiency in NetSuite is desirable but not essential
High attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Solid communication and interpersonal abilities
