We're a busy metal fabrication workshop looking for a reliable Yardhand / Trades Assistant to keep our yard running smoothly and support our tradesmen on the floor.
If you've got your forklift licence, know your way around a saw, and take pride in a clean, well-organised workspace, we want to hear from you.
Key responsibilities
Operating the forklift to load and unload trucks
Cutting steel sections to size using a saw
Packing fabricated steel sections ready for dispatch
Assisting with painting of fabricated steel sections
Keeping the yard clean, tidy and well organised so our tradesmen can get on with the job without delays
General labouring and support duties around the workshop as needed
About you
Current forklift licence (LF) — essential
Experience operating a drop saw / cold saw to cut steel sections
Physically fit and comfortable with manual, hands-on work
A safety-first attitude and comfortable following workshop safety procedures
Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a small team
Own transport
Previous experience in a metal fabrication, steel, or trades-based yard (desirable)
Experience with spray painting or prep for painting (desirable)
