Job Description
An exciting 6-month contract opportunity has emerged for a Business Analyst to join a global leader in industrial and mining digital solutions based in the Hunter region.
Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, you will provide hands-on business analysis support for a new digital product launch.
You will play a crucial role in taking an inventory management product through release readiness—focusing on testing, UAT, product/training documentation, user guidance, and internal process mapping—while also supporting usage analytics across the broader statistical product suite.
This role is perfect for a cooperative, analytical problem-solver who thrives in an Agile software environment and is passionate about delivering high-impact digital products.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Release Readiness: Provide end-to-end BA support for a new inventory management product, including requirements clarification, acceptance criteria, test scenarios, UAT support, defect triage, release notes, training material, and go/no-go readiness inputs.
Collaborative Design & Engineering: Work directly with software engineers, UX/UI designers, product stakeholders, and operational SMEs to define scope, technical requirements, workflows, and product acceptance criteria.
Product Quality & Documentation: Support software quality control by coordinating testing artefacts, validating product behavior against expected workflows, andcreating/maintainingproduct release notes, training guides, and repeatable operational process documentation.
Requirement Lifecycle & Analytics: Collect and validate requirements through stakeholder engagement, user surveys, support insights, and usage data.
Analyze usage analytics for statistical products to identify adoption patterns, product health, and value-add opportunities.
Agile Delivery: Coordinate and contribute to development activities, including Scrum ceremonies, backlog refinement, sprint planning, showcases, and release readiness activities.
Stakeholder Engagement:



Collate and triage feedback from diverse internal and external stakeholders to ensure product improvements are prioritized based on data, customer value, and business objectives.

ABOUT YOU
Experience & Qualifications:
Digital Expertise: 3+ years of experience in the digital solutions or software development industry is essential, along with a strong background in supporting software product releases.
Agile Mindset: Demonstrated experience shipping software products using modern lifecycle management practices (e.g., Scrum).
Technical Proficiency & Tools: Strong technology competency working with data, analytics, models, and modern software applications.
Experience with Jira, Confluence, Zendesk, FigJam, SQL, Power BI, and Azure Application Insights is highly regarded.
Analytics & Testing Experience: Practical experience generating product usageanalytics/dashboardsand supportingtesting/documentationfor inventory management or enterprise software workflows.
Master Communicator: Exceptional written, verbal, and technical writing skills with a talent for translating complexoperational/technicalworkflows into easy-to-understand documentation, process maps, and product demonstrations.
Industry Knowledge (Nice to have): Knowledge of mining,statistical/modelingsoftware, or 3D CAD/spatial applications is a significant advantage.
