NIGHT MANAGER — SOHO RESTAURANT & BAR
Located on the Yarra River in the heart of Southbank, Soho is a high-energy restaurant and bar that transitions from busy lunches and dinners into lively evening trade, DJs, drinks and late nights.
We're looking for an experienced, confident and energetic Night Manager to take ownership of our evening and late-night operations.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a busy venue, knows how to lead from the floor and can take control of a shift from start to finish.
The Role
As Night Manager, you will be the manager in charge during evening and late-night trade, responsible for ensuring Soho operates at a high standard across service, people, atmosphere and venue operations.
You won't just supervise the shift — you'll own it.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Leading the FOH team throughout evening and late-night service
Taking overall responsibility for the venue while on duty
Driving exceptional customer service and a strong venue atmosphere
Managing staff deployment, sections, breaks and labour throughout the shift
Maintaining solid communication between the floor, bar and kitchen
Supporting and directing supervisors and senior team members
Managing guest feedback, complaints and difficult situations professionally
Working closely with security and ensuring strong RSA and venue compliance
Overseeing DJs, entertainment and the transition from restaurant to late-night trade
Ensuring venue presentation and operational standards are maintained throughout the night
Managing closing procedures and ensuring the venue is properly secured




Providing clear handovers and reporting any operational or staffing issues to senior management
ABOUT YOU:
We're Looking For Someone Who
Has previous management experience in a busy restaurant, bar or hospitality venue
Is confident running a high-volume service
Is comfortable managing both restaurant and late-night bar environments
Leads from the front and isn't afraid to get involved
Can confidently direct and motivate a team
Has excellent customer service and communication skills
Remains calm and makes good decisions under pressure
Understands labour management, RSA and venue compliance
Has solid attention to detail
Takes genuine pride in the venue they are running
Is available to work evenings, weekends and late nights
Experience in a high-volume restaurant/bar or entertainment-led venue will be highly regarded.

Maintain strong service standards even during peak periods
Control labour and breaks effectively
Deal with problems before they become bigger problems
Maintain a safe, professional and compliant late-night setting
Create a great atmosphere for our guests
Leave the venue properly closed, secured and ready for the following day
Most importantly, when you're running the venue, you take ownership of what happens during your shift.
