Our client is a Sawmill is looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic / Fitter to join our busy workshop team at our Werombi site.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their workmanship, and has experience maintaining trucks, mobile plant, and industrial equipment.
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you'll play a key role in keeping our fleet and sawmill equipment operating safely and efficiently.
This role is a 7am start and a 4pm finish Monday - Thursday.
7am-1:30pm finish on Fridays!
What's involved?
Service, repair and maintain a range of diesel and petrol-powered plant and equipment
Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on sawmill machinery
Carry out servicing and repairs on company trucks, loaders and other mobile equipment
Diagnose mechanical faults and complete repairs efficiently
Assist in maintaining a safe, clean and organised workshop
Work independently and as part of a supportive team to minimise downtime
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A recognised trade qualification (Diesel Mechanic, Diesel Fitter, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Small Engine Mechanic, Fitter & Turner or similar)
Welding and fabrication experience
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a maintenance or mechanical role
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills




The ability to prioritise work and adapt to changing workloads
Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-first attitude
A good level of physical fitness
A current Australian Driver's Licence
