Job Description

As a Bus Driver and General Facilities Support team member at Moriah College, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and timely transportation of students to and from school.
The position will also support transport administration, general maintenance, and the ongoing safety and upkeep of school facilities.
This role will include:
College Bus Drive:
Safely and efficiently operate College buses in accordance with legislation, policies and procedures.
Complete daily safety, cleaning and basic maintenance checks and report repairs as required.
Maintain transport schedules and ensure students are safely picked up and dropped off on time.
Promote appropriate passenger behaviour and report any behavioural or disciplinary concerns.
Ensure buses are securely stored and maintained to a high standard.
General Facilities Support:
Manage College fleet administration, including vehicle registrations, insurance, e-tags, fines and related records.
Coordinate vehicle purchases, sales and staff training as required.
Manage College-wide deliveries, postal services and distribution of supplies.
Assist with room setups, events, furniture and equipment movements, deliveries and storage.
Undertake basic grounds maintenance, minor repairs, cleaning and general maintenance tasks.
Support the safe, clean and presentable upkeep of College grounds, pathways and facilities.
Assist tradespeople, maintenance staff and other operational teams as required.
Provide general administrative and operational support to the Facilities & Operations team, including backup support for Print and Purchasing functions.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A valid HR Bus License
Experience working with children, including children with additional needs.
Knowledge of bus operations, scheduling, transport procedures, and relevant road and school bus regulations.
Solid communication, organisational, problem-solving and record-keeping skills.
The ability to remain calm under pressure and manage complaints, conflicts and unexpected situations professionally.
A strong commitment to student safety, responsible driving and maintaining high standards of vehicle cleanliness and presentation.
The physical capacity to safely enter and exit buses regularly, perform manual handling and undertake repetitive physical tasks, with reasonable adjustments considered where appropriate.
The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a collaborative, high-performing team.
