About you
The role of the Operations Assistant is to provide support to the Perioperative team.
The Operations Assistant is responsible for assisting with the transportation of equipment and patients throughout the suite / wards, attending general cleaning duties and maintaining a safe environment under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the nursing staff to organise the operating room equipment necessary for a smooth list continuity
Transport patients to and from operating suite
Assist with the positioning of the patient in the operating room
Assist with the changeover routine between cases including mopping, rubbish and moving equipment




Removal and management of all waste and linen
Perform end of day cleaning tasks and set up equipment for the next day
Check and replacement of supplies
Carry out periodic cleaning duties as per work schedules
Assist with the movement of stores, stock storage, packing and unpacking when required
Essential Criteria:
Flexible work schedule, must be able to work morning and afternoon shifts as required
Manual handling training to be completed
Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Demonstrate a customer focused mindset
Ability to work independently as well as in a team displaying a 'can do' attitude
Proven commitment to professional development and quality improvement
Open and honest approach with the ability to maintain confidentiality
Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination status
Desirable Criteria:
Previous experience in the role of Operating Assistant
