Senior Health & Safety Manager - Systems
About the Client
The Safe Step is partnering with a leading education and research organisation undertaking a significant transformation of its Health, Safety and Wellbeing function.
Supporting a large and diverse workforce across complex operational, research and teaching environments, the organisation is investing in contemporary systems, data capability and technology to strengthen risk management, improve decision making and deliver a more consistent, user friendly experience across the business.
This newly created role sits within a broader transformation program and will play a critical role in shaping the systems, governance and information that underpin health and safety performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and continuous improvement of an ISO aligned Health and Safety Management System
Own safety systems, reporting, analytics and information architecture across the organisation
Create a single source of truth for safety documentation, standards and resources
Simplify and modernise systems, tools and processes to improve usability and adoption
Drive digital transformation and identify opportunities to leverage technology and innovation
Deliver meaningful performance reporting and insights that support executive decision making
Manage system vendors and technology partners to maximise capability and value
Lead and develop a high performing team of systems, data and safety professionals
About You




You are a systems focused health and safety leader who enjoys solving complex problems through technology, data and process improvement.
You have experience designing and improving safety management systems, building reporting capability and driving meaningful change across large organisations.
You combine technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement skills and are able to translate complexity into practical, scalable solutions that are adopted by the business.
You'll Bring
Experience leading health and safety systems, governance, reporting or digital transformation initiatives
Strong understanding of ISO aligned Health and Safety Management Systems
Expertise in analytics, performance reporting and data driven decision making
Experience improving enterprise platforms, processes and user experience
The ability to simplify complexity and drive organisational adoption
Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing capability
Proven experience leading and developing teams
