Responsibilities
Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and reporting.
Analyse financial data and provide insights to support decision-making processes.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including tax obligations and audits.
Collaborate with internal teams to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
Maintain accurate records and documentation for all financial transactions.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities as required.
Support the Accounting & Finance department with ad hoc tasks and projects.
A successful Senior Financial Accountant should have:
A recognised qualification in accounting or finance.
Proven experience in financial reporting and compliance within the Transport & Distribution industry or similar sectors.
Solid knowledge of accounting standards and principles.
Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively.
A reputable organisation within the Transport & Distribution industry, based in South Sydney.
