Talent International is currently recruiting Senior Welfare Officer / Senior Guardian to work for the NSW Government, based in Wollongong. This is a contract till Dec, with the possibility of extension, paying $***** per hour + Super.

About the role
n
This role delivers high-quality guardianship services to support people with reduced decision-making capacity. You will advocate for customers' rights, choices and wellbeing, ensuring decisions are made in their best interests and in line with relevant legislation and standards.

Key responsibilities
n

Develop and implement decision‐making plans and maintain accurate customer records.
n
Advocate for customers to achieve positive individual and systemic outcomes.
n
Prepare high‐quality reports, submissions and recommendations for senior officers and relevant decision‐making bodies.
n
Prepare reports for the Guardianship Division of NCAT and attend hearings where required.
n
Make decisions within delegated authority, policies and relevant guardianship legislation.
n
Provide guidance and support to Guardians and support staff on complex customer matters.
n
Work collaboratively with families, carers, health professionals and other stakeholders.
n
Conduct customer visits in line with guardianship standards.
n
Build knowledge of local support services and community infrastructure.

About you
n
To be successful, you will have robust experience working with vulnerable people, managing complex cases and advocating for positive customer outcomes. You will be confident preparing reports, working with a range of stakeholders and making sound decisions in sensitive situations.
