Job Description
There are permanent full-time and part-time ongoing positions within the Day Cancer Centre.
n
You will be responsible for:
n
About the Role
n
n
the delivery of care is consistent with RCH and Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board standards
n
providing comprehensive, safe, evidence-based, holistic, oncology care to facilitate optimal health outcomes for our patients
n
administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, intravenous medications and fluids
n
central venous access device management
n
procedural sedation
n
involvement in emerging and innovative treatment therapies.
n
n
Classification for this position will range from YP3 (Grade 2, Year 2) - YP9 (Grade 2, year 8), FTE base salary $86,****** - $107,****** per annum pro rata, plus superannuation).
n

Use critical thinking and analysis to plan evaluate and implement nursing care and
undertakeinterventions
that result in positive healthcare outcomes for the patient and their families
n
ongoing professional development to stay informed about current evidence-based practices and advancements in nursing
n
active participation in in-service training, workshops, and continuing education opportunities
n
participation in quality improvement initiatives.

Your skills and experience
n
n
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia(NMBA) administered though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
n
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and career development, as evidenced in a Professional Practice Portfolio (PPP)
n
Recent acute oncology nursing experience
n
n
Highly desirable
n
n
Paediatric oncology experience
n
Completion of Paediatric anti-cancer drug administration course (PADAC)
n
n
About the Department
n
The Day Cancer Centre (DCC) is a nurse-led department that provides treatment and ongoing management, of patients with oncology, haematology and immunology conditions including pre and post bone marrow transplant.
