Our client is a leading plastic manufacturer committed to delivering high-quality products within a regulated production environment. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to join their night shift team.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring production machinery operates safely and efficiently.

Night Shift: 10:00pm - 6:00am (Monday night to Saturday morning)

Casual ongoing contract with full-time hours and strong potential for permanent employment

Key Responsibilities
n
Duties include, but are not limited to:
n
n
Monitoring and ensuring all production machinery is operating efficiently
n
Setting up, dismantling, adjusting, and troubleshooting production equipment
n
Performing corrective maintenance and assisting with preventative maintenance activities
n
Diagnosing mechanical faults and implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime
n
Using a range of hand and power tools to complete maintenance and repair tasks
n
Cleaning, servicing, and reassembling production equipment
n




Supporting production schedules and operational requirements
n
Maintaining accurate batch records and maintenance documentation
n
Adhering to all company procedures, safety requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
n
Operating forklifts as required
n
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the production area
n
n
Skills & Experience
n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
n
Exposure to preventative maintenance programs and manufacturing quality systems
n
Previous experience in machine setting, machine operation, or maintenance within a manufacturing workplace
n
Strong hands-on experience using mechanical tools and equipment
n
Demonstrated experience performing corrective maintenance and fault-finding activities
n
Strong mechanical aptitude and technical troubleshooting skills
n
Ability to identify, analyse, and resolve equipment issues efficiently
n
A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement
n
Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
n
A current Forklift Licence (highly regarded)
