Yulestar Pty Ltd is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated School-aged Care Educators to join our team on a casual basis. Based in Eight Mile Plains QLD, this role offers the flexibility of casual work whilst making a meaningful impact on the lives of school-aged children in our care.

As a School-aged Care Educator, you will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing and engaging environment where children can develop socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. You will support children during outside school hours care, fostering their independence whilst providing appropriate supervision and guidance. This role is integral to our mission of delivering quality childcare that complements families' work and lifestyle needs.

Key responsibilities

Supervise and support school-aged children in a safe, secure and stimulating environment during outside school hours care sessions
n
Deliver & collect the children from two local schools by driving our Toyota Hi-ace mini bus. This only requires that you hold a standard car licence.
n
Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, learning and physical development
n
Build positive relationships with children, promoting their confidence and social skills
n
Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, behaviour and development observations
n
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding their child's experiences and wellbeing
n
Ensure compliance with all relevant childcare legislation, regulations and service policies
n




Maintain a clean, hygienic and organised care setting
n
Assist with meal preparation, snack times and other daily routines
n
Collaborate with colleagues to provide consistent, quality care experiences
n
Respond appropriately to children's physical and emotional needs, including managing behaviour constructively
n

What we're looking for
n
n
Valid relevant childcare qualifications, such as a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent nationally recognised qualification
n
Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain one)
n
Current First Aid and CPR certification
n
Demonstrated experience working with school-aged children in an educational or care setting
n
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and families
n
Excellent organisational and time management abilities
n
A genuine passion for supporting children's development and wellbeing
n
Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate practices
n
Ability to work flexibly and adapt to varying schedules as required in a casual role
n




A commitment to maintaining professional boundaries and upholding duty of care obligations
n
Experience in implementing the National Quality Framework or Australian Curriculum is desirable
n
