Litigation Lawyer - Specialist Commercial Firm

Who we are

We are a specialist commercial firm based in Barangaroo, Sydney's premier commercial precinct. We do not chase volume. We deliberately keep a select client portfolio so our lawyers can work as genuine, embedded advisors on matters that actually matter. If you have sat in a team where you were three degrees removed from the client and the real strategy, this role is opposite.

The work
n
This is a junior role, but not an entry-level one. You will already have some grounding in commercial litigation, insolvency, property and construction disputes or
commercial/corporate
advisory work, and you are ready to take on real carriage of matters, not just document review.

You will:
n
n
Manage the day-to-day conduct of a caseload of commercial matters and disputes, with senior support close at hand, not at a distance.
n
Draft pleadings, affidavits and correspondence.
n
Get in front of Courts and Tribunals, not just watch from the second row.
n
Work directly with a Director, Special Counsel and Senior Associate who will actually teach you, not just delegate to you.
n
Pick up exposure to contractual and transactional work alongside your litigation matters,



so your commercial judgment develops faster than it would in a pure-litigation role.

Contribute to strategic, commercially astute advice on complex and high-stakes disputes from early in your career.

What you bring
n
n
Some post-qualification experience in commercial litigation, general
commercial/corporate
advisory (this is a junior role, not a graduate one, so you should already be comfortable with the basics of opening and running a file).
n
Admission as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of NSW and a current practising certificate.
n
Solid written and verbal communication.
n
The judgment to work autonomously and the honesty to ask when you should not.
n
