Central Queensland Hydraulics is a well-established Mackay business specialising in the design, manufacture, installation, servicing and repair of hydraulic and lubrication systems.
n
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter, Diesel Fitter or Hydraulic Technician to join our team. This is a varied position combining field-service work across Bowen Basin mine sites with hydraulic repairs and servicing in our Paget workshop.
n
A fully equipped field-service vehicle will be provided for site work.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
Field-Service Duties
n
n
Attend mine sites and customer locations as required.
n
Conduct hydraulic fault-finding and system diagnostics.
n
Repair and maintain hydraulic and lubrication systems onsite.
n
Perform hydraulic and lubrication servicing on mobile and fixed plant.
n
Conduct hydraulic tooling inspections, audits, testing and calibration.
n
Complete minor tooling and hydraulic equipment repairs onsite.
n
Install, commission and maintain hydraulic and fluid-power systems.
n
Accurately complete service reports, inspection records and associated documentation.
n
Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors and site personnel.
n
n
Workshop Duties
n
n
Strip, inspect, repair and test hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors and valves.
n
Manufacture and repair hydraulic equipment and assemblies.
n
Assist with welding, fabrication and machining where required.
n
Service and repair trucks, forklifts, EWPs and other mobile equipment.
n
Support general workshop activities when field-service work is not required.
n
n
Qualifications and Experience
n
The successful applicant will ideally have:
n
n
A recognised trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Diesel Fitting, Fitting and Turning or a related discipline.
n
Experience with hydraulic systems, fluid-power equipment and lubrication systems.
n
Strong hydraulic fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
n
Experience overhauling and testing hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors and valves.
n
The ability to read and interpret hydraulic circuit drawings.
n
Experience working on mining, heavy mobile or fixed plant.
n
Sound computer skills and the ability to complete electronic service reports.
n
Excellent communication, organisation and customer-service skills.
n
A current Australian driver's licence.
n
A strong commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, integrity and teamwork.
n

The following qualifications would be highly regarded:
n
n
Standard 11.
n
Current Coal Mine Workers' Health Assessment.
n
Mine-site inductions, including BHP inductions.
n
Working at Heights.
n
Confined Space Entry.
n
High-Risk Work Licence.
n
Hydraulic tooling inspection, testing or calibration experience.
n
n
Applicants without all current mine-site qualifications may still be considered, depending on their experience.
n
