They are currently seeking an Automation Engineer to join the engineering team delivering a significant automation and control systems upgrade.

They are currently seeking an Automation Engineer to join the engineering team delivering a significant automation and control systems upgrade.
n
The role:
n
Working alongside experienced Principal and Senior Automation Engineers, you will support the engineering and delivery of automation work packages across a major upgrade program.
n
This is a broad, hands-on engineering role where you will contribute across the project lifecycle, from defining requirements and developing technical solutions through to testing, cutover and rectification.
n
The environment includes PLCs, industrial networks and HMI/SCADA systems, giving you exposure to a technically complex automation landscape and the opportunity to work closely with engineering, operations, vendors and external consultants.
n
You will be responsible for ensuring allocated engineering packages are delivered safely, effectively and in line with project scope, schedule and relevant engineering standards.
n
Key responsibilities:
n
n
Support the delivery of automation engineering packages across a major industrial upgrade.
n
Contribute to the design and implementation of PLC and HMI/SCADA solutions.
n
Identify and define technical requirements, interfaces and work scopes for control system elements.
n
Develop technical and performance specifications.
n
Deliver engineering design outcomes directly and through external design partners.
n
Support project scope development and engineering documentation.
n
Work closely with internal engineering and operations teams, vendors and consultants.
n
Assist with testing, system shadowing, cutover and rectification activities.
n
Ensure engineering activities meet relevant safety, project and engineering standards.
n
Support effective risk management across allocated work packages.
n
n
Skills & experience:
n
You will have:
n
n
A degree in Computer, Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science; other relevant Engineering or IT qualifications, including Diploma qualifications, may also be considered.
n
Robust analytical and problem-solving capability.
n
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
n
Strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
n
n
Experience in the following would be highly regarded:
n
n
Heavy industry or automated manufacturing.
n
Brownfield projects or operational support environments.
n
Practical electrical experience within industrial environments.
n
PLC, RTU, I/O and IoT systems.
n
Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
n
Ethernet and IP networking.
n
HMI/SCADA and historian applications.
n
Windows, Linux and virtualisation.
n
Active Directory.
n
Databases and systems integration.
n
n
