Hours:
38-hour week - Monday to Thursday 7:00am-3:30pm, Friday 7:00am-1:00pm
Mr Lift It is a family-owned business heavily involved in the construction, elevator, rigging, lifting, and industrial equipment markets. We specialise in the service, inspection, testing, repair, and supply of specialist lifting and height access equipment.
We are looking for a reliable, mechanically minded, and detail-oriented
Workshop Bench Technician / Fitter
to join our team.
This role is based in our workshop and involves working on customer equipment that has been brought in for service, repair, inspection, and testing. You will work alongside experienced technicians with access to manufacturer training across many of the top brands in the industry.

We supply top-quality tools and equipment for our technicians to work with and provide opportunities to develop specialist skills that are highly valued in the lifting and industrial equipment industry. Some manufacturer training opportunities may also involve interstate or international travel.
One of the major benefits of working with us is our work-life balance. Our standard 38-hour week is worked from
7:00am to 3:30pm Monday to Thursday and 7:00am to 1:00pm on Fridays
, giving you an early finish every Friday.
About the Role
As a Workshop Bench Technician / Fitter, you will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, repairing, rebuilding, and preparing customer equipment to a high standard.
The role would suit someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work,



takes pride in their workmanship, and wants to build specialist knowledge in lifting, rigging, and industrial equipment.
You will receive training and support to work on a wide range of equipment used throughout the construction, elevator, and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect, service, and repair customer equipment brought into the workshop
Work on hoists, winches, lifting equipment, rigging gear, height access equipment, and related components
Strip, clean, assess, rebuild, and test equipment
Identify worn, damaged, or non-compliant components
Assist with proof testing and final quality checks
Record job notes, findings, parts used, and repair recommendations
Follow workshop procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards
Keep your work area clean, organised, and safe
Work alongside experienced technicians and learn manufacturer-specific processes
Assist with preparation of equipment for return to customers, hire, or sale
About You
The ideal candidate will be:
Mechanically minded and hands-on
Detail-oriented and safety-focused
Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
Able to follow procedures and technical instructions




Comfortable working with tools, mechanical components, and workshop equipment
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
Proud of producing clean, accurate, and professional work
Interested in building a long-term career in a specialised industry
Open to ongoing training, accreditation, and development
Experience That Would Be Advantageous
Experience in any of the following areas would be highly regarded:
Mechanical fitting
Workshop servicing or repairs
Lifting equipment/ Rigging Knowledge
Bearing, gearboxes, brakes, motors, or mechanical assemblies
Construction, elevator, mining, industrial, or maintenance environments
Formal trade qualifications are highly regarded but not essential for the right person with the correct attitude, mechanical ability, and willingness to learn.
