Job Description
This is a rewarding and challenging opportunity for an experienced Exhibitions Coordinator to support Creative Victoria's First Peoples Art and Design Fair. Working with the Principal Project Manager, you will guide the production and delivery of the biennial art fair and act as a liaison between art centres, collectives, galleries and independent artists. The successful applicant will bring extensive knowledge of Victoria's First Peoples cultural and creative sectors, strong community and sector networks, and high-level stakeholder and project management skills to deliver effective outcomes. The role requires flexibility, including evening and weekend work and occasional overnight travel, as well as travel when required.

The Team
The position of Exhibitions Coordinator forms part of the Office of the Chief Executive branch within Creative Victoria.
The Office of the Chief Executive branch has two units, the First Peoples unit and the Communications and Engagement unit, and one team, the Executive Office. The branch supports the Chief Executive in leading Creative Victoria to efficiently and effectively deliver on the priorities of the Department, Minister and Victorian Government.
It leads priorities to enhance self-determination and coordination of First Peoples policies and programs in the creative industries portfolio, while raising the profile of Victoria's creative industries and Creative Victoria's initiatives, investments, programs and opportunities.
Creative Victoria is the state government body dedicated to championing, growing and supporting Victoria's creative industries and the advantages they bring to Victorians. Creative Victoria prioritises First Peoples self-determination to strengthen the connection between Victoria's creative industries, Community and Country.
About the Candidate
You will have demonstrated connection and knowledge of Victorian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts, culture and the creative sector, with the ability to work respectfully and effectively with artists, Elders, art centres, collectives, galleries and community stakeholders. You will also have demonstrated experience engaging diverse stakeholders, developing productive relationships and mutually beneficial partnerships, responding to stakeholder needs and achieving stakeholder outcomes. Experience in exhibition, arts and event coordination, including planning, managing timelines and competing priorities and budgets, developing systems and procedures, and delivering exhibitions, art fairs, cultural events or related projects will be highly valued.
