About the role
The Site Supervisor is responsible for setting out, managing and coordinating subcontractors so the project is constructed in accordance with constructed in accordance to the company's principals.
Key Responsibilities for the role
Responsible for setting, managing and coordinating the subcontractors in accordance with the following: Contract Drawings and specifications, The Construction Program, Cost budgets, The Company's workplace health and safety Requirements and the projects Quality Assurance requirements
Liaise with the Site Construction Manager for site establishment of the project
Organise and supervise site survey and set out of the works
Manage onsite staff
Hands on Construction labour
Liaise with Project Estimator to confirm suitable subcontractors and suppliers
Liaise with Project Estimator to confirm correct scope for subcontractors and suppliers
Check subcontractor and plant Hire Company Work Method Statements and safety compliance prior to their commencement on site
Assist subcontractors in correct set out & coordination of the work
Check workmanship quality and issue corrective actions
Liaise with the Construction Manager for all safety matters
Maintain daily site diary, site induction register, material delivery records, and site files
Raise/issue/pass to Construction Mangers any RFI's, site instructions and document transmittal forms.
Ensure drawing register is current and being used by the subcontractors
Conduct subcontract toolbox meetings and prepare and issue minutes
Conduct safety meetings and safety inductions
Assist with Monthly program and provide program status reports when requested
Report to Construction Manager and Project Manager any project variations, extensions of time or bill of quantity under or over quantity
Assist in variation preparation and checking of subcontract progress claims
Maintain QA records and advise and procedures for site
Maintain monthly plant stock take and security of plant in site diary
Authority to make use of company resources to complete the project
Select all resources required for the project from Shed register
Maintain site filing system and ensure the site office is kept clean and tidy
Maintain neat & tidy site including a site amenity
Skills & experience
Hold a Certificate IV in Building and Construction or other relevant qualification and be eligible for a QBCC Site Supervisor licence
A minimum 5 years' experience in the Construction industry in a similar role
Thorough knowledge of residential and commercial construction processes and practices.
Possess a basic level of computer literacy including the ability to use MS 0ffice.
Knowledge of OH&S; legislation and codes of practice relevant to the Construction industry.
Ability to lead and organise the daily workforce ensuring all human resources issues are handled appropriately
Ability to provide assistance with daily planning including reading construction plans
Strong organisational and time management skills
Possess the ability to deal with people at all levels including robust client liaison skills
Possess the ability to solve problems and manage conflict effectively
Possess a positive, professional image and a customer focused and flexible approach
Hold a current drivers licence
