This is a broad, autonomous role with real ownership. You won't just run events, you'll help shape the experience of a large engineering community across ANZ, build your own network across the business, and drive a program largely independently. We are seeking a proactive Community Engagement and Events Program Coordinator to support a large, distributed engineering community across Australia and New Zealand. This is a varied role combining internal events, communications, employee engagement, volunteer coordination and program operations.
n
The role
n
You will coordinate a calendar of internal engineering community programs and events, including:
n
Biannual engineering town halls
n
Quarterly social and networking events
n
Hackathons and technical speaker sessions
n
Recognition and appreciation activities
n
Employee onboarding and awards initiatives
n
Community, inclusion and engagement programs
n
You will manage event logistics, including venues, catering, audio-visual requirements, registrations and vendors, while ensuring employees have a positive experience from the initial communication through to the event itself.
n
Key responsibilities
n
Own the planning and delivery of internal engineering events in Sydney
n
Coordinate volunteers delivering activities across other Australia and New Zealand locations
n
Manage multiple events and community initiatives simultaneously
n
Draft newsletters, Teams posts, invitations and community updates
n
Coordinate employee stories, success highlights, photography and video content
n
Maintain communications calendars,
distribution lists and Teams channels
n
Support volunteer, ambassador and Employee Resource Group programs
n
Build relationships across engineering, marketing, communications and recruitment teams
n
Engage senior leaders and distributed stakeholders
n
Track program budgets, participation, survey results and engagement measures
n
Maintain program documentation and contribute to knowledge repositories
n
Develop current ideas and help shape future community initiatives
n
About you
n
You will have three to five years' experience in one or more of the following areas:
n
Internal communications
n
Employee or community engagement
n
Workplace or employee experience
n
Corporate events and communications
n
Culture, inclusion or recognition programs
n
Regional program coordination
n
You will also have:
n
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
n
Strong event coordination and project management experience
n
Experience managing several projects or events concurrently
n
Confidence working independently with limited supervision
n
The ability to build trust across different stakeholder groups
n
Experience engaging distributed and virtual teams
n
Confidence coordinating volunteers without formal authority
n
Experience using Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint and Forms
n
The flexibility to adjust working hours around planned events when required
n
