Network and Systems Engineer - 24-mth FTC

LET'S EXPLORE THE ROLE
n
As a Network & Systems Engineer (Projects) in our Critical Communications team, you'll play a hands-on role supporting and enhancing the NSW Public Safety Network - the essential communications platform used by emergency services across the state.
n
This role combines network administration, system and application administration, operational support, and project delivery. You will work across a broad technology stack while contributing to systems that help keep communities safe.
n
Key Responsibilities:
n
Network Administration
n
n
Configure and support routers, switches and firewalls.
n
Work with protocols including OSPF, BGP, VPNs, QoS, Radius and SNMPv3.
n
Ensure network reliability through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
n
n
System & Application Administration
n
n
Administer and support Windows Server environments (virtualised and physical).
n
Manage identity platforms including Active Directory and Okta.
n
Configure, support and coordinate upgrades for key business applications.
n
n
Operational Support
n
n
Provide Level 2 support across network, identity, server and application platforms.
n
Troubleshoot incidents, perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
n
Maintain and continuously improve operational procedures.
n
n
Technical Project Delivery
n
n
Deliver technical components of infrastructure and application projects.
n
Support deployment of new services and system enhancements.
n
Collaborate with internal teams, customers and external vendors to ensure successful outcomes.
n

You're an engineer who thrives on variety, enjoys problem solving, and takes pride in delivering reliable, high-quality operational outcomes. You bring strong fundamentals across network, systems and application environments and are keen to keep learning.

Technical Skills Required
n
n
Network administration: routing, switching, firewalls,
enterprise protocols
n
Systems administration: Windows Server ****+, virtualisation
n
Application administration: configuration, support, change and upgrade coordination
n
Identity: Active Directory, Okta
n
Cloud exposure: Azure and Microsoft 365
n
Project delivery: hands-on experience implementing technical solutions
n
Tools: ServiceNow (ITSM), Appian (awareness)
n
Degree in a relevant field
n
Vendor
training/certifications
(Cisco, Microsoft, Juniper)
n
Australian Citizen with ability to obtain/maintain Baseline Security Clearance
n
Ability to work 5-days a week from controlled environments.
n
Strong desire to upskill and support new technologies
n
