Ron Allum Deep Sea Services (RADS) is a 100% Australian company that designs, builds and tests specialist underwater systems proven to operate in the deepest, most remote points on the planet. We are currently seeking a Purchasing Officer (full time) to join our business.

About the Role
This is a key purchasing role to support RADS Operations activities. The position is full-time (could be part time) and would suit someone with a wide skill set and previous purchasing / administration experience, especially in the manufacturing industry.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will involve:
forecasting purchasing requirements for the operations and production team;
review stock levels daily to prevent shortages or overstocking of critical components;
ensuring the ERP stock master files are kept up to date and accurate to allow for efficient purchasing;
placing purchase orders, recording them in the MRP Inventory Management system and coordinating the arrival, receipt and storage of parts;
allocating preferred status to suppliers based on their capabilities and performance
assisting sourcing the most cost-effective materials, goods, products, and services;
monitor shipments and follow up with suppliers to ensure items arrive on time.;
regular reporting on purchasing activities
recording receipt in / dispatch out stock movements in the system;
working with the Production and Engineering Teams to coordinate and issue production work orders;
managing and recording work orders in the new MRP system in a timely manner;
supporting the coordination of stocktakes and cycle counting to maintain inventory accuracy;
assisting in production scheduling and reporting;
general clerical duties and administration as required.
establishing and maintaining qualified relationships with clients as well as vendors and suppliers;
assisting with the ongoing development of the MRP software and working with the rest of the team on system continuous improvement;
liaising with accounting personnel to ensure all processes are Xero compatible
Hands-on experience with purchasing and inventory software
Superb written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional organisational and planning skills
Excellent networking and time management skills
Proven experience as a Purchasing Administrator
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft products computer skills
High attention to detail

Skills and Desirable Criteria
Understanding of supply chain procedures
Negotiation skills and experience in working in RFQ/ contracts formats
Positive knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating, and liaising with vendors)
