About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and compassionateDisability Support Worker / Personal Care Workerto support a NDIS participant inOak Park.
This is an opportunity for a calm, patient and empathetic support worker who understands that every person has different communication, sensory and emotional needs.
Some of your tasks will include:
Supporting the participant withdaily living activities and personal care
Providing companionship and genuine emotional support
Creating an environment where the participant feelssafe, heard and respected
Usingtrauma-informed and person-centered communication
Being mindful of sensory needs and helping maintain acalm and sensory-appropriate environment
Providing clear and reassuring preparation beforeappointments, outings or unfamiliar activities
Supporting the participant to make their own decisions aboutfood, routines, activities and supports
Encouraging independence, choice and control rather than taking over
Providing community access and transport where required
Assisting with domestic tasks as needed
Supporting the participant consistently and respectfully while maintaining professional boundaries
Following the participant's individual support plan and agreed routines
About You
We are looking for someone who iscalm, compassionate, patient and emotionally aware, with the ability to build trust and establish a strong professional relationship with the participant.
You will ideally have:
Cert III or IV in Disability (required)
Experience supporting people withcomplex support needs, psychosocial disability, neurodivergence or trauma backgrounds
Medication trained (desirable)
A robust understanding oftrauma-informed care
Understanding of professional boundaries within the support work scope
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Working with Children Check
CPR and First Aid certifications
Your own reliable transport with comprehensive insurance and a Victorian Driver License
