The Opportunity

As Payroll Officer, you'll have ownership of the payroll function and play a critical role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. The environment is wide-ranging and engaging, with a strong focus on Award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation, payroll compliance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing the end-to-end fortnightly payroll process
n
Interpreting Awards, Enterprise Agreements and employment conditions
n
Ensuring accurate calculation of wages, penalty rates, allowances and leave entitlements
n
Managing payroll tax, reporting and compliance obligations
n
Processing payroll adjustments, reconciliations and audit checks
n
Responding to payroll queries and providing support to managers and employees
n
Maintaining payroll data integrity and employee records
n
Identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
n
Partnering closely with Finance to support reporting and payroll integration
n

About You

We're looking for someone who is highly detail-oriented, enjoys working through complexity and takes ownership of their work.

You'll bring:

Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing (min. 3-4 years)
n
Strong Award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation skills
n
Sound knowledge of payroll tax and payroll compliance requirements
n
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
n
A proactive and solutions-focused approach
n
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
n
A willingness to continuously learn and deepen your understanding of Awards, EAs and employment conditions
n
