About the role
n
Reporting to the Head of People Operations,you'llact as a key connection between Payroll, People Systems
andIndustrialRelations,
ensuring employment conditions and award interpretations are accurately reflected in our payroll system and processes.
n
You'llestablishquality assurance activities,
conductproactivecompliance
checks,identifypayroll
risksand opportunities,and support remediation whererequired. You'llalso contribute to payroll system improvements, including requirements gathering, testing and implementation.

Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Establishing andmaintaininga program of payroll compliance checks, controltestingand quality audits.
n
Monitoring the
accuracy,eligibilityand
timeliness of payments against awards, enterprise agreements, employment
contracts,legislationand
organisational policies.
n
Partnering
withIndustrialRelations
and People teams to translate award interpretations and employment conditions into payroll system requirements and controls.
n
Identifyingpayroll risks, control gaps and potential leakage through analysis and root-cause investigation.
n
Supporting payroll reviews,auditsand remediation activities, ensuring issues are resolved and outcomes communicated appropriately.
n
Developing
andmaintainingcontemporary
payroll
policies,proceduresand
governance frameworks.
n
Working with People Systems and Payroll leaders to scope, test and implement system configuration and technology improvements.
n
Consolidatingand reviewing payroll reporting and reconciliations
toidentifytrends,risksand
opportunities.
n
Providingpractical advice to leaders and internal stakeholders on payroll requirements, compliancerisksand organisational impacts.
n
Driving continuous improvement to streamline processes, strengthen controls and enhance service delivery.
n

What you can bring to the team
n
You'rean experienced payroll professional with robust technical knowledge and a genuine interest in
compliance,systemsand
continuous improvement. You'recomfortable working across complex awards and enterprise agreements and can turn detailed legislative or payroll requirements into practical processes and controls.
n
You build trusted relationships acrossdifferent functions, communicate complex information clearly and approach problems with sound
judgement,discretionand
attention to detail.
n
To succeed in this role
n
n
Significant end-to-end payroll experience within a large or complex organisation.
n
Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, statutory
obligations,awardsand
enterprise agreements.
n
Experienceidentifyingpayroll
risks, conducting controltestingand resolving or escalating compliance issues.
n
Demonstrated experience undertaking payroll audits, internalreviewsor remediation activities.
n
Experience developing and implementing payroll
policies,proceduresand
governance frameworks.
n
Experience
defining,testingand
implementing payroll system or configuration improvements.
n
Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within
requiredtimeframes.
n
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Power BI capability will be highly regarded.
n
Experience with PeopleSoft or another complex enterprise payroll system will be highly regarded.
n
n
You willbe requiredto undertake a Fit2Work National Criminal History Check and hold or be willing to obtain a Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
